“That’s Where The Money Is”

Years ago there was a senator named Everett Dirksen, who was considered quite an orator. He did have a way with words. Discussing the federal budget, he famously remarked, “A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you’re talking about real money.” Well, we need that man now.

‘I don’t know where all this money is’: Zelenskyy says Ukraine only got $75 billion of $177 billion in U.S. aid

In other words, according to the president of Ukraine, $102 billion dollars have disappeared. But not disappeared as in vanished into a black hole, never to be seen again. No, disappeared as in ended up in the foreign bank accounts of corrupt Ukrainian and American politicians.

Why would these people want the war in Ukraine to end? Why would the deaths of hundreds of thousands of young Ukrainians and Russians cause them to lose one minute of sleep? To mix metaphors beyond redemption, the war is their gravy train, and they want to prolong it as much as possible.

No wonder these people hate Trump. He says he wants to end the war immediately. Like all sociopaths, these people may tolerate personal pain, but threaten their money, and you infuriate them. It is sad to contemplate, but what you need to deal with actors on the world stage are not diplomats, but people familiar with sociopaths – that is, police officers and forensic psychologists.

$102 billion gone? Gosh, I wonder how that happened. When they asked famous bank robber Willie Sutton why he kept robbing banks, he replied, “That’s where the money is.” If you asked American and Ukrainian politicians why they keep the war going, they would give the same answer.
