Code 3 To Assist

From neighborhood association:

“So so sick of LAPD. my van was stolen from my driveway with 20,000 in stock inside. My van was found. The stupid thief left his cell phone in the cab. I called his ex wife on the unlocked phone. She gave me his cell number and exact address. I was so happy…. I gave the info to the police as she said my stock would be at his place. The police did NOTHING even with the address and his name and everything. I am so disgusted. They said they are too busy. I suggested maybe they could take a traffic cop of his job of writing tickets. They found this funny. Meanwhile I have lost my whole business. I was tempted to drive to the address in Lynwood but am scared the thief may have a gun.”

In the Social Contract, the citizens agree to give up the right to take things into their own hands, in return for which the government promises to pursue justice for them, including the use of force. In Los Angeles as in many other blue cities, the defunded police lack the resources to pursue criminals, but disarmed citizens are no longer able to do so themselves.

But it’s not the individual officers. Most of them are great guys and gals. No, it’s their bosses, who allow themselves to be puppets of ineffectual politicians to further their careers. Too sad.

In short, the Social Contract is broken. But we didn’t break it. We were willing to do our part. No, leftist politicians broke it. They defunded and demoralized the police, and left fire hydrants dry during a time of high winds. But they didn’t tell us, “You’re on your own.” Instead they told us we would go to jail if we tried to pursue justice on our own.

So why do we keep voting for these useless jerks? That’s on us.
