23 Baltimore Schools Have NO Students Proficient In Math

• 23 Baltimore public schools report not one student is proficient in mathematics. This suggests that the schools are virtually trying to fail. There are almost always a few very bright students who would learn from the textbook even if the teacher remained mute all year. Yet these 23 schools have no students at all who are proficient in math.

• Democrats and leftists (if there is any difference) protest strongly against Trump’s plan to diminish or abolish the federal Department of Education. Who, they ask, will educate our children? To which we ask, who is educating them now? Moe, Curly, or Larry?

Taken together, these two news items are not just incompatible, they are mutually contradictory. They are saying, “We are doing a really rotten job. Keep sending us money and leave us alone.” I don’t think so.
