Ingratitude Can Be Dangerous
• Tesla dealerships across the nation are set on fire as protests against the political activities of Elon Musk. Tesla is a public company that belongs to the shareholders. It is THEIR property that is being destroyed, not Musk’s.
• SpaceX rocket rescues two astronauts from International Space Station, where they had been marooned for nine months after NASA failed to rescue them. Concerns were expressed about the health of the female astronaut, who had lost serious amounts of weight and whose arms looked like those of an anorexic. Look under S for Sarcopenia.
What is the worst sin? In personal life, there are many candidates, so I will leave the question to theologians. But in public life – in politics – I believe the worst sin is ingratitude. Elon Musk’s SpaceX rescued the astronauts when others failed. And what thanks does he receive?
Tesla dealerships are being firebombed. But they belong to the dealers, though the cars may be the property of Tesla, that is, the shareholders. Privately owned Teslas are being keyed or set on fire. Eventually, a fire will spread to an occupied building, and someone will burn to death.
Back where I come from, arson was considered a felony meriting serious prison time. Arson of an occupied building was considered attempted murder, in some places punished with death. So where do I come from, you ask? I come from America. And man, am I getting homesick. Back there, people expressed themselves by speaking and voting, not by life-threatening violence.
