Wrong-Way Drivers Can Kill You
I know. Years ago one almost killed me. But it was a mistake. An elderly couple got on the freeway in a construction zone. and mistook an off-ramp for an on-ramp.
But what if it were not a mistake? Consider this thought experiment. A lone woman’s car breaks down on a lonely road. Her cell phone shows no service. Eventually a man comes along and offers her a ride.
She gets in his car and asks to be driven to the service station on 50th Street. As he drives along, she reads off the street signs: 37th Street, 36th Street, 35th Street. But he doesn’t change direction. What should she do?
He is obviously going in the wrong direction, getting farther from her intended destination. This could be a mistake. But she keeps pointing out the wrong direction, and he persists. So it is not a mistake. He is intentionally taking her farther from her goal. What he intends to do is uncertain, but it is nothing good.
If the car slows, she should jump out. And at some point, she should jump out even if the car does not slow. Better to have a few broken bones than to be murdered.
We are in the unhappy position of that woman. For generations, leftists have been taking us in the wrong direction.
School children know less math, less English, and less history, but more woke nonsense and gender theory.
A full-time job no longer supports a family, and barely supports an individual.
Owning a house is not only out of reach, it is beyond imagination.
Churches and synagogues are empty, but mosques are full.
Faith in media and politicians is at an all-time low, and deservedly so.
We keep pointing out these uncomfortable realities, but the leftists keep driving in the same direction. At some point, we are forced to conclude that to them, it is not the wrong direction. They intend for things to go wrong. At that point, we are compelled to jump out of the leftist car.
We just did. It wasn’t easy, but we did. Donald J. Trump picked us up. It won’t be a smooth journey, but it will be an interesting one. And it will be our journey, not one planned for us by our enemies. Taking our fate in our own hands is, after all, a characteristic of a human being.
