Is Throwing Feces A Legitimate Form Of Protest?

Champion swimmer and women’s rights activist Riley Gaines was speaking at the University of Washington. Unlike her experience at San Francisco State, she was not physically assaulted, forced to flee to a locked room, and held for ransom. Revealingly, these crimes were never properly investigated.

No, at the University of Washington, she and her associates were merely shouted down and pelted with feces, presumably human. We can bet serious money that these crimes will also not be investigated.

But wait. Look what is happening to mighty Harvard. It is at risk of losing its federal funding because it did not protect Jewish students from harassment and threats. Perhaps we can look forward to San Francisco State and the University of Washington suffering a similar fate.

Human rights activists shout, argue, and march with placards. They do not assault those with whom they disagree or pelt them with feces. There is quite enough rhetorical feces in the world without resorting to actual feces. Expel those who in fact are students, and arrest those who commit crimes. They are not rights activists, they are fascist thugs.

In the 1930s, German and Austrian universities were incubators of Nazism. And today, it is the universities, not the Trumpists, who are doing the same. Time we woke up. That is not the alarm clock, it is the fire bell.
