Rabbi Attacked, Pulls Gun

“Alleged carjackers ran away Saturday night in Baltimore, Maryland, after their intended target, a 62-year-old rabbi, pulled a gun.

“ABC 7 reported that police were called around 9:00 p.m. Saturday after the Rabbi had been attacked twice, once immediately prior to the attempted carjacking and once after the alleged carjackers were unable to start and steal the vehicle.

“As the second assault was beginning the rabbi pulled out a gun and the two suspects fled the scene.”

Wait, what? Jews aren’t supposed to defend themselves, much less a rabbi, much less with guns. They are supposed to be good little Jews, like they were in the 1930s and 1940s. They are supposed to line up meekly, like sheep, and climb onto boxcars that would take them (literally) God-knew-where.

If some guys wanted to carjack their car, they were supposed to give it up. If the would-be carjackers then entered their home, they were supposed to offer their safe, their jewelry, their documents, and if necessary their wives and daughters. That’s what Jews did, isn’t it?

But what’s this? Armed resistance? Acting like citizens of a free country, not subjects of the czar? Insisting on being safe in their own homes, and in their own country? No longer dependent on the good will (if any) of others to take in the pitiful survivors? No longer sheep, but sheepdogs?

What’s wrong with them?
