More “Reports” Of Trump’s Death

Saturday morning, social media overflowed with accounts of Trump’s alleged  death, stories about a double in his place, a grainy video of something being carried out of the White House, and – most disgustingly of all – declarations of joy at the “news.” I refuse to dignify such pieces of garbage by linking to them. Find them if you wish to lose weight by reducing your appetite.

Similar expressions of joy appeared on social media when Trump announced he had contracted Covid. To this an Italian politician pungently retorted:

• Italian right-wing opposition leader Matteo Salvini tweeted: “In Italy and in the world, whoever celebrates the illness of a man or of a woman, and who comes to wish the death of a neighbor, confirms what he is: An idiot without soul. A hug to Melania and Donald.”

“An idiot without a soul.” Couldn’t have said it better.
