Anti-Semitism In California Schools

Jewish Students Penalized for Reporting Antisemitism at School | Frontpage Mag

A lawsuit has been filed against California public schools, alleging a systemic pattern of discrimination against Jewish students. In some cases, students who complained were themselves punished.

My mother was a student at the University of Vienna in the 1930s, when Nazism was on the rise. Then as now, schools and universities were hotbeds of blatant anti-Semitism. One of my mother’s sharpest memories was a group of young men with swastika armbands kicking a Jewish student down the stairs. He crawled to reach the gate, while police waited outside. They could not enter the campus because of medieval charter.

Whenever my mother heard demonstrators chant, “Pigs off the campus!” she never failed to remind me of this painful memory. When the police were off the campus, nothing good happened.

Schools and universities are incubators of ideas. Both good and bad ideas. Remember that.
