Missing The Parade Of Athletes?

Watched the Parade of Athletes at the Milano-Cortina Olympics. Surprised not to see the USA in its alphabetical place. Learned that the USA would be third from last, as we will be the 2034 host. But then NBC cut to commercial.

By the time coverage resumed, we no longer heard “The United States of America” announced. We no longer saw the name of our homeland on the sign being carried in. We no longer saw the two flag bearers, Erin Jackson and Frank Del Duca, proudly waving the Stars and Stripes as they entered the stadium.

All we saw was a crowd of happy athletes milling about. But that’s not the same thing at all.

When Trump was running for president the first time, he said, “They’re not after me, they’re after you, I’m just happen to be in the way.” At the time, I thought this was a narcissistic exaggeration. Now I’m not so sure.

If NBC, which after all stands for the National Broadcasting Company, decides to cut to commercial when our flag comes in, what does that show? No,  it’s not Trump they hate, it’s Americans. He’s just standing in front.
