This is Regents’ Prayer said in all NY schools till SCOTUS banned it in 1962: “Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence on Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers, and our Country.” Nonsectarian, kids not forced to say it. But since it was outlawed, have things improved in schools? Don’t make be laugh.

Two centuries ago poet Heinrich Heine predicted that if Christian God fell, pagan German gods would rise from graves with terrible results. Nazis proved him correct.
