- Leftists’ ‘Defund the Police’ Obsession Is Causing a Crime Wave.
- ‘I Feel Like It Was Setup’: Olympic Hammer Thrower Turns Away From American Flag During National Anthem.
These two headlines don’t seem related, but they are. They both show not just leftism but narcissism. The Olympic hammer thrower feels that playing the National Anthem while she was getting her second-place award was “disrespectful.” She shouldn’t respect our anthem or our feelings. No, everyone in the stadium should respect her feelings.
Similarly, the “defund police” activists care not at all that people who live in high-crime areas, often minorities, actually want more police, not fewer. They feel good about themselves when police patrols are cut back. That more people, often poor people, are robbed, assaulted, and murdered they blame on guns, or poverty, or racism, or whatever – but never on their anti-police agitation.
Don’t play the anthem because it offends me. Cut back on policing because it irritates me. Beautiful, marvelous me. Wonderful, woke me. In ancient times they thought the earth was the center of the universe. Then Galileo and Copernicus taught us that the earth revolves around the sun. But now we know they were wrong. The center of the universe is me.
