I always appreciated the word “evacuation.” Its dual meaning can be amusing, or not so amusing, depending on the situation. For example, if criminals kick in my front door at 3 am, and I say I am evacuating, do I mean: (a) I am running out the back door, (b) I am soiling myself, or (c) both of the above?
The evacuation of the US Embassy in Kabul is a perfect example of this dual meaning.
