Note To Trudeau: Forgot About Magna Carta?

Note to Justin Trudeau and his Emergencies  Act:
–No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled, or deprived of his standing in any other way, nor will we proceed with force against him, or send others to do so, except by the lawful judgement of his equals or by the law of the land.–Magna Carta, 1215

This is not late-breaking news. It is the fundamental charter of human rights the English forced on King John 807 years ago. It is the cornerstone of law for English-speaking peoples. Perhaps Justin’s university education omitted it. Perhaps his perfectly done hair and perfectly tailored and pressed suit left no time to consider it. Perhaps his perfectly stuffed shirt left no room to breathe deeply the air of freedom.

But the truckers are under none of these constraints. Though they may not be able to quote it, they know instinctively the rights it contains, which is a lot more than Justin can claim. In time they will prevail, and Justin will be relegated to a brief mention in history books.
