Canada PM Trudeau: Guns must not be used for self defense. Isn’t saying they aren’t actually used for that purpose. Is saying it is illegal to do so. Is saying you’re better off dead than using a gun. Is saying your life is worth less than a criminal’s life. But not his life, of course – he is guarded by armed RCMP officers.
There in a nutshell is the “progressive” view of human life: The lives of the elite like us are infinitely precious and will be guarded by armed officers. The lives of you peasants are of little worth and won’t be guarded at all, even by you. So shut up and don’t cause trouble. We have all the guns, you know.
