My father was a respected physician and family man. All my life I looked up to him. But suppose you told me he was a convicted felon who abandoned my mother. My whole life would be affected. I would be angry at everyone. Isn’t that exactly what we do when we teach kids the US is a racist cesspool, and our founding fathers were worthless jerks?
