Forgive Me, Master Sergeant Lee

When I was 14 I started high school, took ROTC, and met Master Sergeant Lee. He had combat decorations including the Purple Heart. He taught us to shoot .22 rifles, taught us the manual of arms with the M1 Garand, taught us unit cohesion. I’m so sorry, MSG Lee, for allowing the nation you bled for to sink so low.

If I told him federal agents rummaged through the underwear of the former First Lady, he would think I was joking. If I told him federal agents were trying to determine who would be the presidential candidate of the opposition party, he would think I had lost my mind. But it’s no joke, and I’m not the irrational one.

But you know what? I don’t think MSG Lee would forgive me.  Too much blood was shed, by him and so many others, to allow the freedom they fought for so bravely to slip through the fingers of apathetic ingrates and sheep-like cowards.
