LA power outage in our area lasted 2 hrs. We had no problem. Backup batteries for land-line phone, garage door opener, one for each of two wifi’s (needed after 19 day outage of one). But 4 batteries aren’t cheap and need replacement. Considered a generator but don’t want gasoline stored on property – fire hazard.

Fire, police, paramedic response times longer. City services as erratic as power grid. Real Third World has charm, is generally cheaper to live. This Third World is result of First World decay. It is neither cheap, safe, nor charming. Coming to a city near you – unless you do something on Election Day.
