In a free country, government officials tell people the truth. In a free country with problems, officials sometimes lie, but pretend it is the truth. In an unfree country, officials lie but don’t care whether people know it. In effect, they say, “This is the official line, accept it or else!”
And here we are. The media are full of reports that the vaccinated now make up the majority of hospitalized and dead Covid patients. But the White House Covid Coordinator serves up the same stale baloney: Take the shots and you won’t get seriously ill. Yes, it’s a lie. We all know it’s a lie. But they have all the power, so shut up and obey.
