We are lucky if “experts” know anything about their own subject, much less other subjects. Taking their advice on other subjects shows our own stupidity.
• Fauci is, we hope, an expert on epidemiology. He is not an expert on infectious diseases, not having treated a patient since his residency a half-century ago.
• He is not an expert on the economy, so damage from locking down businesses was beyond his expertise.
• He is not an expert on education or child development, so he did not foresee the ill effects of locking down schools.
• He surely is not an expert on the Constitution, so locking down churches and censoring media did not bother him in the least.
The word “expert” is incomplete. It requires addition of “on…” What, exactly, is someone an expert on?
