China refuses meeting with Defense Secretary Austin and does so in harsh terms. Is this merely totalitarian bluster, or a hint of what’s in store for Hong Kong soon? When an expansionist power acts rudely, the world had better take note. They are sending a signal: Get out of our way. Perhaps we too should send a signal. But with a feeble president and a woke military, we may have already sent a signal: We will get out of your way. All history teaches that weakness encourages bullies.
