Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands): "[Trump] needs to be shot— stopped." pic.twitter.com/E2nIzVJuwY

House of Representatives delegate from US Virgin Islands, and former impeach Trump manager, says what many Democrats believe but say only in private: Trump must be “shot, stopped.”
This is nothing new. A professor at a leading university once told us at dinner, “If they shoot Bush I’ll throw a party.” But what is new is that a sitting member of Congress, albeit a non-voting one, feels free to propose the assassination of a former president and current leading candidate of the opposition party. The idea is no longer too terrible to voice in public.
Just because many conservatives are quiet, it doesn’t mean they have nothing to say. Just because they are patient, it doesn’t mean they are weak, or that their patience is unlimited. Recall what Obi-Wan Kenobi told Darth Vader: “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”
