“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling – an outstanding advocate for women’s sports and women’s rights in general – declares that she would do prison time rather than call a man a woman.
Yes, she is very rich, which makes speaking out easier. She cannot be threatened with being fired and having her family go hungry. But consider how many rich, powerful cowards there are. Consider how many corporate big shots caved to the pressure of a small but noisy minority. And to add to the mix, Rowling speaks out for Israeli victims of terrorism.
When I see J.K. Rowling, just as when I see Riley Gaines, a biblical quote comes to mind:
A woman of valor who can find, for her worth is above rubies.
