Dan Bongino, former NYPD and Secret Service, has a grim prediction. He foresees a major terrorist attack, enabled by our open borders. Is he exaggerating? I fear he is not. Millions come across illegally, and many are literally unknown – no one knows who they are, or where they come from, or what they have been doing, or what they have been trained to do.

In the 1970s and 1980s, New York City was plagued by crime. But it wasn’t bad enough, so people continued to vote for the Democrats who had allowed the problem to grow to those proportions. Finally, things become intolerable. Voters brought it Mayor Giuliani and Chief Bratton, who governed the city that had been called ungovernable. Crime fell dramatically. And then people forgot.

Is Bongino correct? Is 10/7/23 like 9/11/01? Was the horror so extreme that even the most naïve were jarred out of their apathy and denial? Is this an inflection point? Will we finally look into the ugly face of the evil we confront? Will we finally understand what we need to do?
