People in affluent areas of America appear to have trouble identifying with Israel or understanding that randomly killing men, women, children, and even babies on Oct. 7 was considered rude in some places. I won’t call these people Americans. Americans would have no problem condemning such behavior. And neither would many other peoples.
Pro-Palestinian rallies were planned in New Zealand, about as far away from the Middle East as you can get without leaving the Earth. But wisely, the rallies were cancelled when Maoris in Wellington and Auckland performed hakas, traditional dances in which the dancers defy and intimidate their enemies. Watch them; they surely intimidate me. What a way to show solidarity with Israel.
