No Menorah For The Brits.

London Council cancels traditional Hanukkah menorah display for holiday season to “avoid community tensions.” Apparently community tensions are aroused specifically by Jewish symbols. After all, 0.2% of the world population is just too many for some people.

But even then, Hanukkah is not specifically Jewish, it is monotheistic. It represents the successful attempt to drive pagan Roman idols out of the Jerusalem temple and restore worship of the God of Abraham, on Whom Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all based. Hanukkah is thus a multi-religious holiday, but it is just too Jewish for the Brits.

Oh yes, the holiday season will be much more peaceful without a menorah. Women, children, and the elderly will be able to walk the streets in safety. And even better, giving in to¬† pressure will send the right signal to pressure groups: Press harder, they’ll give right in. The famed British lion is feeble and toothless. How inexpressibly sad.
