Just watched Midnight Mass from the Vatican. Heard the familiar Christmas story according to Luke who, unlike the other three evangelists, was by tradition a Greek physician and not a Jew. It tells of a young Jewish woman living with her Jewish fiancé in Judea, the Jewish colony of Rome now called the West Bank. She gives birth to her Jewish son, Jesus, who like all Jewish boys is circumcised on the eighth day. So far, a purely Jewish story. And to top things off, like all Jewish holidays, celebrations begin on the night before.

Nevertheless, the learned presidents of Harvard, MIT, and Penn see nothing intrinsically wrong with genocide of Jews, that is, killing Baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and everyone but Luke. Seems that an Ivy League Christmas would be largely depopulated. How inexpressibly sad. But some of us have long memories. We won’t forget any time soon.
