BREAKING NEWS: In a rare 9-0 unanimous decision, the U.S. Supreme Court rules that states may remove a candidate from a state ballot, but not from a national ballot such as the presidency. In other words, this is not Iran, where the ayatollahs of the Supreme Leadership Council decide who can be on the presidential ballot. No, this is America, where we the people decide. We hold primaries and caucuses, and we select the candidates we prefer.
We do not have ayatollahs. We do not have a Supreme Leadership Council. Nor do we want one. We have a republic. And to answer Ben Franklin, we intend to keep it. If you doubt this, just try us.
