Years of malignant neglect have led to rampant crime in New York subways. But even apathetic leftists have had enough. No cops + no laws + no religion + no self control + too many gangs + too few good Samaritans = rampant crime. So even leftist Gov. Kathy Hochul felt compelled to act. She is sending 1000 extra police to the subway: 250 State Police and 750 National Guard troops. Of course, if the rules of engagement are restrictive enough, these extra personnel will accomplish little or nothing. Actual anti-crime action or empty gesture? Stay tuned.
