Do you suppose that when more people believed in the Resurrection of Jesus, they tended to be less afraid of their own deaths, of diseases, of climate change, and of any number of things. Less afraid, less depressed, less amenable to an oppressive government that promised to save them from multiple dangers. They were already saved.
