Coeur d’Alene, an Idaho city with a population of over 50,000, had “too many churches.” Alexander Scott Mercurio, a new teen convert to Islam, had a plan to “fix that real soon.”
Ramadan was almost over and Mercurio was unhappy because he believed that he was a bad Muslim who hadn’t even assaulted, let alone killed any Christians, and would go to hell.
Do you think it is possible to coexist with someone who believes it is up to him to decide how many churches should exist in an Idaho town? Someone who believes it is his duty to spit in the faces of Christians, if not to actually kill them? Somebody taught him to hate with such virulence. That somebody needs to be identified and removed from society, before he poisons more young minds.
It does no good to claim that this is not standard Muslim doctrine. Somebody thought it was, then acted on his belief. Only through luck did this not develop into a mass casualty situation. Luck is great. I’ve had more than my share. But you can’t rely on luck to remain alive. For that you need intelligent thought and vigorous action. This is a corollary of the Dan Bongino Rule: Don’t Get Dead.
