This old photo exemplifies what is wrong. Here a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp has just been liberated. He is still in his prison uniform. But he is no longer a prisoner, no longer a victim. In his hand he holds an old World War I style rifle with a boyonet, which he is poking into the ribs of the former SS guard, who is now his prisoner.

The world is used to seeing Jews as victims, lining up to climb onto boxcars to go…they knew not where. Unarmed Jews as victims, yes, we’re used to that. We’ve had so much practice. But Jews with weapons? Jews defending themselves, shooting down thousands of drones and missiles sent by Iran? Jews retaliating against Gazans, who elected Hamas to rule them and are thus responsible for the crimes of Hamas?

No, the world is not used to that. The former prisoner with the rifle exemplifies what is wrong. Jews as victims, Jews as prisoners, Jews as corpses? Oh yes, no problem.

But Jews with weapons in their hands? No, that they are not used to. That is intolerable. Quick, shut down the campus and intimidate Jewish professors and students who have nothing whatever to do with the policies of the Israeli government, but who carry the Blood Guilt that their Leader talked about. Yes, that’s much more familiar.
