FBI: The Best And The Brightest, Not
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R,OH) sends letter to FBI Director Wray, asking why class, economic background, and other factors are now crucial in hiring decisions. Formerly, intelligence, investigative ability, and experience in law enforcement were deemed more important. Obviously the new aim is to make the FBI more diverse instead of more effective.
Ordinarily, hiring less intelligent, less experienced agents would be a cause for great concern. After all, the FBI is our premier law enforcement agency. But now, with the FBI politicized, investigating political opponents of the administration as well as parents who complain to school boards, perhaps less effective agents are a good thing.
Perhaps we should shut up and count our blessings. When we stand up and complain at school board meetings, perhaps we should be grateful when the FBI agents cannot find our addresses and misidentify us as employees of the circus. Efficiency is good only when someone is doing something good. Doing bad things efficiently is not a source of pride.
