June 6 marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of occupied France by the USA, the UK, and Canada. This was a turning point in the liberation of Europe from the Nazis and the defeat of Hitler. Or was it?

• Three UCLA students sue university for allowing them to be harassed by anti-Semitic chants, then physically barred from the campus because they are Jews. I was glad to be alive, now I’m ambivalent about living long enough to see this.
• Chabad House at USC, home-away-from-home for Jewish students, has glass door smashed. Police claim it was not a hate crime. Okay, then what was it – a gesture of love and understanding? Get a steel door, install a panic room, you are no longer in a friendly place.
