More Trouble At Columbia

By | July 5, 2024 | 0 Comments

Columbia University is older than our country. It was founded as King’s College in 1754. The class ring still has a crown on it. But age and Ivy League status do not protect it from bigotry. Recently Jewish students have been subjected to harassment and overt threats.

On one occasion Jews were locked in and forced to go to a particular room. Back where I come from, we call that false imprisonment and possibly kidnapping, felonies meriting prison time. Something similar happened to champion swimmer Riley Gaines, who tried to speak for the rights of women athletes. That happened at a California college. In other words, this harassment is not limited to Jewish students or to the Ivy League. It is unleashed by leftists whenever they find a contrary voice.

Three deans were just put on leave for anti-Semitic emails. When will supposedly intelligent people learn not to use company emails for stuff they don’t want to be made public? One dean laced the email discussion of a proposed program to combat anti-Semitism with vomit emogis. Another embellished the email with $$$$, implying that as usual, Jews were interested only in collecting money.

Time to get serious. Time to root out bigotry. Time to recall how German and Austrian universities became breeding grounds for Nazism. Time to get up out of the easy chairs in the faculty lounge and act like educators, not stooges for leftist agitators. Time to stop contributing to leftist indoctrination centers disguised as universities. Time to restore American higher education to the honored place it once occupied.

At Columbia, the Jew-Hating Plot Thickens
