Murphy’s Law of Motivation: At the extreme, it may be difficult to tell the difference between stupidity and malice, but for the victim, what’s the difference.

Agent too short to protect 6’3″ Trump. Agent too immature to keep sensitive material off social media. Agents too stupid to have a Plan A, much less a Plan B. Agents too inexperienced to secure the high ground. Agents too apathetic to do anything about the man with a rifle on the high ground. Agents too unconcerned even to keep Trump off the podium when they hear there is an unknown man with a rifle on the high ground. Agents too career-oriented to do anything afterward except cover their own behinds, and their bosses’.

But no problem. They are probably all woke, diversity hires. Got to look good, you know. But diversity of what? Race, religion, gender, ethnic background? Absolutely. But diversity of intelligence, ability, physical training, dedication and – most of all – loyalty? No way! That kind of diversity can be fatal. It almost was.
