Family Condemns Robert Kennedy Jr.

His family including siblings condemn Robert Kennedy, Jr. for endorsing Trump for president. They used such terms as “disgusting betrayal.”

But wait. Don’t they claim to be Catholics? Aren’t church and family more important than politics? In fact, is there anything more important than politics? Not to some people.

For that matter, what is the tradition that RFK, Jr. is “betraying”? Well, let’s see. RFK, Jr.’s father was running for president, but was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan because he was too pro-Israel. Forgot about that, didn’t you? The Democrat Party is now becoming anti-Israel. They agree more with Sirhan than with Bobby. How’s that for “disgusting betrayal”?

And of course, his uncle President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, a pro-communist loner. And who was the family icon JFK? I’ll tell you who. I voted for him. When he was assassinated, I served as a commissioned officer in the Public Health Service. That’s why a colleague came up to me and declared, “They killed your boss.”

• JFK was a lifelong Catholic. He and Jackie were married by Cardinal Cushing of Boston, who also buried him. As a husband, he left much to be desired, but he enunciated Catholic values quite clearly. He would not recognize a party that favored abortion up to the time of birth.

• JFK was a strong anti-communist who faced down the Russians during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He would have no use for “liberation theology,” which is leftism in religious robes.

• JFK was a decorated combat veteran. They don’t give away the Navy and Marine Corps Medal in boxes of Cracker Jack. He would have no use for those who disrespect our veterans, especially disabled veterans.

• JFK was a strong believer in capitalism, which we called free enterprise. When a reporter complained that his proposed tax cut would benefit the rich, JFK famously replied, “A rising tide raises all boats.”

• JFK was an advocate of free speech, as were most Democrats in those days. He would condemn those who tried to muzzle RFK, Jr. because of unorthodox views on the Covid vaccine.

In short, it is not RFK, Jr. but his yammering relatives who are disloyal to the Kennedy tradition. I know. I was there.
