Two Jewish students hit on head with glass bottle on University of Pittsburgh campus. No doubt the “demonstrator” was protesting the actions of the Israeli government, with which the victims have nothing whatever to do.

Some time ago at work, I was complaining about the massacre of 84 civilians carried out by the U.S. government at Waco. As a complete non sequitur, a colleague asked, “What about how the Israelis treat the Palestinians?”

I replied, “What the Israeli government does in the name of its citizens is their problem. What the U.S. government does in my name is my problem.” The man was intelligent. I believe he understood what I meant: Stop making anti-Semitic remarks.

Punishing Jewish students in Pittsburgh for what other Jews may do thousands of miles away is by definition anti-Semitism and stupid as well. If we allow it, we are anti-Semitic and stupid.
