“Vice President Kamala Harris was aiming at former President Donald Trump when she blasted his appearance at Arlington National Cemetery, but Gold Star family member Christy Shamblin was stung by the backlash.
“Ms. Shamblin, whose daughter-in-law Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee was one of 13 service members killed in the botched 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal, said she began receiving death threats after Ms. Harris accused Mr. Trump of politicizing his attendance at the Aug. 26 memorial service.
“We didn’t receive any death threats until after she put that on social media,” Ms. Shamblin told Higher Ground podcast host Billy Hallowell in an interview. “And when I say death threats, I mean to my phone – human beings, calling my phone, calling me by name, knowing where I work, saying that they want me dead.”
The mother-in-law of one of the 13 Marines killed in action during the Biden-Harris botched withdrawal from Afghanistan was at Arlington with President Trump. Later she received multiple death threats. These included phone calls from actual people who knew her home and work addresses. That is, they were credible death threats – both federal and state crimes.
Neither Harris nor Biden appeared at the Arlington wreath laying. They were busy elsewhere. Trump did appear. But some Democrats’ hatred of Trump is so intense that it overcomes all sympathy and respect for gold star families. This hatred runs so deep that they threaten to kill gold star families for merely having appeared at the same place Trump did.
Murphy’s Law of Hatred: The side that has the deepest haters is not the side you want to join. You may get threats if you don’t join, but you won’t be able to look at yourself in the mirror if you do join. It’s a gang, not a political party. Only gangsters threaten those who don’t pay homage.
I remember a scene from “NYPD Blue.” A food store owner is cleaning up after a fire. He tells the detectives, “I don’t understand it. I get my meat from the right people.” Same thing here. “Do it our way or else.”
