Caitlin Clark may leave the WNBA and head for Europe. Gosh, I wonder why.

• Clark hit on side of head hard enough to rupture eardrum. Blood clearly visible in left ear canal, but neither team mates, coach, trainer, or referees seem to notice. No foul called. No concussion protocol carried out.

• Clark poked in left eye with false fingernail. Fortunately Clark blinked, or she would have gotten a corneal abrasion requiring an eye patch worn for days or weeks. Scratch on eyelid clearly visible as eye blackens, but neither team mates, coach, trainer, or referees seem to notice. No foul called, much less a flagrant foul with ejection.

These are only the most blatant examples. Who knows what other shenanigans went on of which we are unaware? Who knows what racial or sexual slurs were used which we didn’t hear? But look on the bright side. It’s hard to hear insults if you are deaf in one ear.
