7-Eleven To Close 444 Stores Across North America

The location of these stores has yet to be announced. But it seems likely that many of the closed stores are located in “blue” cities where armed robbery is barely punished, and looting is not punished at all.

There are areas of Los Angeles where there are stores that have remained closed since the Watts Riots of 1965. If the current non-prosecution of many crimes persists much longer, there will be more areas of cities that become “food deserts,” lacking supermarkets, convenience stores, and drug stores. You can’t expect investors to sink their money into sure losers.

This is especially true when the parent company of 7-Eleven is Japanese. They are used to an orderly country, and have difficulty understanding how an advanced nation is allowing itself to descend into lawless chaos. But I can’t understand it, either. And I will keep it in mind on Election Day as I pass a 7-Eleven.
