Orthodox Jewish man on the way to synagogue shot by man reported to shout “Allahu akbar.” Condition of victim not reported. Condition of offender critical. Chicago Police do not treat this as a hate crime. But if not, what is it? An attempt to rob his skull cap? A protest against global warming?

The multiple police gunshots at the end of the video are what justice sounds like when other, more peaceful forms of justice are no longer available. Get used to the sounds of gunfire. You’ll hear more of them until our centuries-old justice system is reestablished, and until our border is controlled. Uncounted, unidentified, unvetted crowds pouring across is intolerable. So why do we tolerate it? A top election issue? Absolutely. Just ask the guy from Chicago. If he is able to speak.
