One of the marks of a totalitarian regime is rewriting history to suit itself.
• Biden didn’t call Republicans “garbage.” He was referring to waste disposal in New Jersey. You know, like Tony Soprano.
• Trump wasn’t shot in the head and almost killed. The bloody ear was makeup.
• Caitlin Clark wasn’t hit in the head. The blood in her ear canal was makeup.
• Our Civil War wasn’t about slavery, it was about economics. One-third of a million White men and boys signed up to die for economics.
• Slavery wasn’t universal. Only America had it, showing how uniquely evil and racist Americans are.
• We got rid of slavery in 1865. Cuba didn’t get rid of slavery till 1886, and Brazil didn’t get of it till 1888. But don’t tell anyone.
• Hitler wasn’t a racist, he was just inhumane. But Trump is Hitler because he is a racist. (Wait, what?)

I could go on, but you get the point. Editing White House transcripts to make Biden look better is just a symptom. The disease is complete disregard for truth. Once you catch that disease, nothing else really matters. It is fatal to democracy. It kills personal and political relationships. Truth may not always be pretty, but it is always the truth.
