Editor of Scientific American Denounces Trump Supporters as ‘Fascists’

Scientific American is, after all, not a scientific journal but a popular science magazine. As such, it need not adhere to rigid scientific standards of objectivity. But we hoped it would not descend into the gutter of partisan politics. We hoped in vain.

But what about Lancet, one of the two most respected UK medical journals? Some time ago it published, without comment, the claim that President Reagan cut AIDS funding. In fact, this claim is a frequent fabrication of leftist media. In fact, when Reagan came into office, there was no AIDS funding for him to cut, because the disease was not yet recognized. In fact, AIDS funding rose for each year Reagan was in office. In fact, Lancet tarnished its reputation as a scientific journal.

The sad fact is that leftism pollutes science just it pollutes everything it touches. Like a reverse King Midas, it transforms everything it touches into poo. Soft, sticky, stinky poo. So read Scientific American if you wish, but with the realization that it is neither scientific nor American.

Stalin called his political rivals “fascists.” He did this even to Trotsky, the founder of the Red Army. To Stalin, the word “fascist” meant only “I don’t like him.” To the mainstream media, “fascist” means exactly the same.
