Dershowitz: Biden Blundered With Pardon

Prof. Dershowitz points out that if Biden had commuted Hunter’s sentence – for example, to a minimal fine – Hunter would still be covered by the Fifth Amendment’s prohibition against self incrimination. If Hunter were called before a grand jury or a Republican-controlled congressional committee, he simply could have refused to testify.

But now, Hunter is free of all risk, so there is no self incrimination. Hunter could be forced to testify about the Ukraine shenanigans of himself, Joe, Joe’s brother, and who-knows who else profited from this malodorous mess. We look forward to further news on the pardon front. There’s a whole family to consider.
