Yes, it is the Christmas season – excuse me, the holiday season. It is the time of peace and good will. It is the time when enemies reconcile and friends become closer. That is, it would be if the world were populated by human beings. But as many people have yet to discover, not every creature that walks on two legs and talks is, in fact, a human being, deserving to be treated as such. Some just look human, but are not.

But please, do not call them animals. That is an insult to animals, which are God’s creatures operating on their instincts for survival. They kill for food or in defense of themselves or their families. They do not attack, then watch their victims suffer and die merely for some sick pleasure, some sadistic thrill. No, only our kind do that.

The question is, how many of these pseudo-humans can we tolerate living among us, before civilization disintegrates into chaos with roving bands of vigilantes? The question is, do we have the wisdom and the guts to do something about it before that happens?

• An illegal immigrant had been deported and returned, a felony. He amused himself by getting on the New York City subway, setting a sleeping woman on fire with a lighter, seeing her unsafe clothing rapidly ignite, then sitting down to enjoy the proceedings. He was taken into custody without incident. Meanwhile, the governor of New York declared that the subway was safer. Safer for whom? Homicidal sadists? Surely not for sleeping passengers.

• A middle-aged Saudi immigrant to Germany, a physician, didn’t like Christmas or Christmas markets, for which Germany and Austria are famous. So he drove his car into a crowd of men, women, and children at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, killing  5 including a 9-year-old boy, and injuring about 200. He was taken into custody without incident. Christmas lights traditionally are red and green, not blue..
