Homan: Criminal Aliens Tipped Off
Border Czar Tom Homan, Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), spoke out forcefully against those who tip off people of impending ICE raids. One recent raid in Aurora, Colorado yielded only about one-quarter of the anticipated arrests of members of the violent criminal gang Tren de Aragua, based in Venezuela.
Homan raised the very real possibility that such leaks might lead to ambushes of ICE agents. He threatened to prosecute people, including public officials, who tip off violent criminals.
If, God forbid, a federal agent is killed in such an ambush, those who tipped off the gang members could be charged with conspiracy to murder, or being an accessory to murder, of a federal officer. Recall that the feds have a death penalty. When Tom Homan says he isn’t playing, we should take him at his word.
