One President vs 94 Federal District Courts

Currently there are 94 federal district courts, out of which 833 federal district judges operate. The way it works now, any one of them can issue an order blocking an executive order of the President, or declaring an act of Congress unconstitutional and therefore void.

If the military ran like that, any lieutenant could countermand the order of a general. If a business ran like that, any supervisor could disregard the instructions of the boss.

A modest proposal: Papers to nullify an order of the President or an act of Congress can still be filed in any federal district court. If the judge agrees, the case goes up to the U.S. Court of Appeals for that circuit. And only if the Court of Appeals agrees does the order take effect.

If too many cooks spoil the broth, too many authorities spoil a constitutional republic and create chaos. Chaos may be confused with democracy. But chaos is the opposite of democracy. If no one is in charge, then the nearest bully is in charge. It’s like the schoolyard without the teacher present.
