Kurt Schlichter Wants Ukraine To Win, And Also Wants A Pony
Retired Army Colonel, lawyer, and author Kurt Schlichter wants Ukraine to win the war with Russia, and also wants a pony. Schlichter could afford to get a pony. But he does not have the ability to enable Ukraine to beat Russia.
This is one of the first things we try to teach children: To distinguish between wishes that are achievable and those which are not. Some adults never learn this lesson. They believe Ukraine will win if we send them enough money.
Other people, of course, couldn’t care less who wins. They just want the billions of dollars to keep flowing to Ukraine, so their cut will keep flowing into their offshore bank accounts. And still other people want the whole thing to keep going, so they can continue to launder cartel money. But best not to talk about them.
Let me quote Schlichter. He has a way with words. Hope he gets his pony:
“And let me make something clear at the beginning. I like the Ukrainians. I trained them and they were with us when I deployed. I would like them to be able to win their war. I would also like to have a pony. Wishing doesn’t make things so. It’s time to get hard-nosed and real about what’s going on so we can stop this nightmare before it spins completely out of control. And when two nuclear-armed powers are facing each other, spinning out of control can be really bad.”
