There are 94 federal district courts across the nation, comprising 677 federal judges. If any one of the 677 makes a decision, it can be appealed to the relevant U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, if that court agrees to hear the appeal. Then, in a few cases, the decision can be appealed to the U.S.
Supreme Court, if it agrees to hear the appeal.
This process can take years. It is not meant to handle acute problems. The notion that any one of the 677 federal judges can overrule the President is, quite literally, insane. That is, so deranged that it is dangerous to others.
U.S. District Judge Boasberg is not clinically insane. But he is judicially insane. He believes that he has the power to order the President around as if he were the judge’s court clerk. But if this were true, so do all the other 676 district judges. That is clearly insane.
Judge Boasberg ordered the Department of Justice to inform him when the planes carrying the deported gang members left, how many deportees they were carrying, where they landed, etc. etc. This is classified information that could well endanger the lives of the agents and aviators involved.
But that didn’t bother the honorable judge. It wasn’t his job to protect our citizens from violent criminal gangs. Similarly, it wasn’t the job of the Los Angeles Fire Chief to make sure the reservoir in the Pacific Palisades was full, or that the hydrants had water. No, that was the job of the Department of Water and Power. The Fire Chief denied that she was responsible even to know about it.
As a result, thousands of homes were destroyed and people died horribly. “It’s not my job” is a dangerous statement. Same with the judge. 677 judges believing “It’s not my job” can wreak havoc in a nation. You don’t like what the President is doing? Vote him out of office. Or sue him in court, and wait for the Supreme Court to decide.
A lieutenant can’t tell a general what to do. Only another general can. Only the top of the Judicial Branch can tell the top of the Executive Branch what to do. At least that’s what rational people would say.
